@Kabuki Can you express your feeling, I mean how do you feel to loose the nationality of your motherland, Actually i want to get Japanese nationality but dont want to loose my own nationality as well. But i know Japan is single nation country, mean no dual nationality.so its difficult for me to decide.

Frankly speaking i felt sad that i will no longer be an Indian and also considering the fact that Indian economy will grow tremendously in the coming years. I was thinking i should have gone for PR but having the Japanese citizenship has it's own merits. Although i have become Japanese but my mind and heart will always be an Indian. Consider the pros and cons and then decide whether you want to go for Nationality or PR. Good luck bro

@kabuki26, it is really good for Indians that they don't need to submit renunciation. So, it will reduce the application time to around one year for Indian nationals. For other nationals it takes around two years.

@waiting to be naturalized Don't show yourself superior as an Indian in this japanese forum , because all nationalities are equal in Japan., and everyone treat equal. it's take maximum one year for a normal case, unless some one have bad history.

@ Waitingguest2022
Hello,
What I told you is confirmed by Homukyoku and french embassy. Homukyoku request both recipisse and certificate translations. By law loss of french nationality is effective when the new one is effective. Please refer to Civil Code (2020) Not sure what happen when france fail to provide certificate.
I meet embassy tomorrow for the recipisse.
Since it is painful to speak other japan guide. Contact me on linkedin (search for Nicolas 3goo Japan, I shall appear).

Hello again.
I got a call for the interview. I will go to houmukyoku first, and then the same day they will come to my house. How exactly are the house interviews? Do they ask to see anything in particular? Is there anything to be careful about? For example should I remove my posters with tacks on the walls? (technically the landlord doesnt allow them, but will restore them or pay the when leaving as the contract says)
Thanks

hi @guest2323 (guest) @ waiting to be naturalized was not wrong. For vnese, it takes about 1 year from application to result as other people, but then it can take until 9 months for process of renunciation (there were cases). So in total it will be near 2 years

@TonyMi, Hi TonyMi, it's just simple thing to check your house randomly and if your family members are living together with you in your house then they will also talk to them about you. anyway, be positive and hope for the best.

@JSPR1
Well no one is asking your shitty advice. People are just stating what they have experienced and it has nothing to do with the nationality. Immigration treats every case differently although the common criteria for the naturalization process is same. Mind your language before making any comment.
