At what date can we hike mount Meakan ? Will it be open this year on May 1st?

Meakan can be climbed at any time of the year, but winter climbing requires special gear and experience, as it is dangerous. In the usual year, snow remains on parts of the mountain until late May or early June. In early May, there is usually a considerable amount, and the ascent can still be dangerous for the inexperienced and under-equipped. But to be honest: I don't know the specific snow situation for 2023. For usual summer-climbing, it seems that the season usually starts from mid to late May. I recommend to inquire with the local tourism desk on site.
