COE processing times

There are different websites to look at visa processing times in the US that are based on people participating with their own situation. Hopefully this thread can stay up and stay updated.
My COE was submitted to the Aichi-ken immigration office on November 18th 2021 and I will update the post when I get my COE with the duration time. If others can post their duration times it would be appreciated I'm sure for everyone that is still applying.

I am not sure, but what is your question? Are you wondering when your CoE will be issued or what? Actually, it will take time, in many cases approximately 1-3 months, depending on the purpose of applying and depends on the evaluation of the application.

Submitted to Aichi immigration authority at Toyama airport.
Submitted - November 18, 2021 Received - December 08, 2021
This is just one data point. Obviously every person/situation/place filed will be different but hopefully this is helpful.
Super Happy!!!!

Just an other data point. My application was submitted in week of 15/Nov to Osaka immigration and I got today (23/Dec) the news that the COE has been emitted. Visa category: HSP, 5 yrs
But obviously this doesnft mean yet that I can relocate to Japan as the borders are still/again closed.
So now onto creating already all the documents likely needed to apply for the special circumstances entry permit, so once borders open again a tiny bit this can be submitted.

You are too lucky, or more likely you had prepared documents pretty well. Some people even wait for about 2 months just to get their CoE.

I'm happy to hear that you finally got news about your COE! When I applied for it a few years back, it took me just over 3 months to finally get mine as it was a super busy time of year and many others were also applying for theirs.

I also applied for my wife (I am Japanese) in Osaka on February 17th, 2022.
I did not receive any answer.
When I call the immigration they don't say much: "you need to wait".
Anyone who applied in February?

The immigration lawyer submitted my application on 27th October but have not received mine yet. It's over 6 months now and I'm still waiting. The immigration have requested further documents on two occasions of which my company submitted them. My company called the immigration last week and they told him to wait small but did not give exact date. I'm quite worried but I believe I will finally get it. Has anybody being through this situation before?

I figured my date would be useful to someone also searching the processing time. My husband's mother (Japanese) filed for him (Child of Japanese National) and mine as his spouse through an immigration lawyer. Ours was submitted March, 30th. Still no news yet. My mother-in-law told me they asked her for additional info 2 times so far. I'm anticipating my half of the application is making it take longer as being the spouse. I hope everyone gets some good news soon, if they hadn't already.

Coming back to this thread after a bit of a wait to update for consistency's sake. I posted about how my husband and I's COEs were submitted March 30th by our lawyer. Just recieved the COE yesterday! The Immigration Bureau in Fukuoka finished processing it last week, then it was sent out this week by our lawyer to us. Only took 2 business days to arrive to the US. From submission to in hands, it was 71 days. So about 10 weeks. Best of luck to everyone else.

Hello everyone, I found the website pertaining to Japan's COE processing time directly from Japan's immigration website but it's written in Japanese. This is this year's latest COE processing time frame from January to March 2022 with the length of days that differ on what kind of visa you're applying for. https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/content/001371836.pdfIt gives us a rough estimate of how many days we need to wait but this is just an average number and may take longer or faster than usual since each person's case is different even though they're applying for the same kind of visa. For those who don't know Japanese. (I only did the most common visas) --------VISA------------FIRST TIME APPLICATION--------RENEWAL------- Engr./Hum/Intl Stu 39.8 days 31.7 days Spouse 39.4 days 28.8 days Student 63.6 days 28.1 days HSP i (a) 21.4 days 27.8 days HSP i (b) 23.9 days 40.9 days HSP i (c) 48.9 days 35.5 days I made a post some days ago about my company applying for an Engineer visa last May 9 and I will still post again when we have received the COE to keep everyone a heads up. Hope this post helps. Source: https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/publications/materials/nyuukokukanri07_00140...

Applied for our spouse based come on April 20, 2022 and as of June 17, 2022 we are still waiting. When family calls it's automated system that sends you around and a human never actually answers the phone so like others said we can only wait and hope. This is to Osaka office as well.
