Magome - Tsumago in Mid November 2024/7/24 09:55
Hello!

I m planning to do a solo day trip walking from Magome – Tsumago (or vice versa) in Mid November this year.
I will be based near Kiso-Fukushima station. My initial plan is to leave my accommodation early and catch the 9am or latest 9.55am bus from Nakatsugawa to Magome. Start the trail and reach Tsumago around 1pm - 2pm, catching the 1526hrs bus (or earlier) leaving Tsumago before sky turning dark around 4pm?

Questions:
1. Does the above plan make senses?

2. Due to the short daytime in November, is it advisable to kick start the trail from Kiso-Fukushima? Should I spend a night and leave from Nakatsugawa instead?

3. I read that due to limited accessibility of buses in Tsumago, starting the trail from Tsumago would be a better choice instead.
I wonder this would also a safer choice for me instead.
What do you think?

Thanks in advance for advices!

That is a multi hour wait for the bus. Did you look at doing the walk in reverse? Taking the train to Nasigo and walking the other direction gives access to the hourly bus back to Takatsugawa.

Nakatsugawa - sorry, bad spelling. Doing the walk again on Friday . . . . will be hot.
