Fall Foliage in Sapporo Mid October

I have limited time to travel to Sapporo October 19-23, 2024 and wish to see the trees changing color. Will I see the fall foliage during this time? Due to tight schedule I can't travel too far from Sapporo. Thanks.

Last year due to warmer weather, koyo was later than normal.
Your chances seem good though.

Last year I was there on the 31st OCT and 1 NOV, I thought it was too late for the Autumn colour. Interestingly, it turned out to be perfect for Hakodate and Sapporo.
You may have to wait closer to Early October to get better information.

Last year, due to months of intense heat through summer many trees were stressed and went from green to black/brown/grey without colours in between for many of the places I was visiting.
For the trip I did to Sapporo during the autumn season my photos are date-stamped towards the end of October, so there is a chance you will get some nice autumn leaves. An option is to head a little further north or a location with elevation. When I visited Usu for the volcano the trees around the area had already dropped their leaves so it would have been better earlier in the month.
