What to do in Ube?

I have inexpensive accommodation in Ube for 2 nights. Is there anything to do for a day besides visiting the castle? Going to Hagi seems to be too long for a day, or is it worthwhile? I have travelled extensively in Kyushu already, so that is out. We are not very mobile, so long walks/hikes etc are out unfortunately.

Sorinji Temple is quite famous, and the art museum is small but nice.
Aside from the temple, Tokiwa Park is probably the most famous place in Ube. The park has a lot of interesting public art as well as a zoo.
If that doesn't interest you, Shimonoseki and Yamaguchi are not far by train. You could also take a bus from Yamaguchi (or Shin-Yamaguchi) to Akiyoshido Cave. Yuba Onsen in Yamaguchi is also an option.
