Nikko day trip: Toshogu and Senjogahara hike

Considering I'd take the earliest train to Nikko from Asakusa and be there around 8am is below plan feasible?

1. Visit Toshogu shrine
2. Take the bus to Ryuzu falls
3. Hike from Ryuzu through Senjogahara marshland to Yunoko (or Yudaki falls if less time left)
4. Take the bus back to Nikko
5. Train to Tokyo

Yes, with an early start it is possible. Note that Toshogu does not open until 9am. You could first hike and then visit the shrine. The Senjogahara will be calmer early in the morning.

An other advantage of doing the hike first is that you are then already back in town before you need to take the train back to Tokyo. So you are less dependent on catching a specific bus.
