COE processing times

How is it taking 6 months for some but less than a month for some in the same category??
What is that factor?

The COE application is not cancelled automatically if your employer decides it's taking too long and aborts the hiring process. If your employer doesn't cancel the COE application and it ends up being approved, yes in theory you can come in the country with your new visa and search for a new job immediately. However, the COE approval paper/email will go through your employer first, and they're more likely to cancel it when they receive it and not forward it to you if they are not hiring you anymore.

This is something to discuss with your employer if this situation arises.

Been following this page since day 4 months ago & not even a single day missed to open this page.

Hi All,

Applied for my wife's COE on July 5th, 2024, I hold a Long-Term Resident visa and applied for the same category for her. I got a request from them yesterday asking me to write a detailed explanation of why I have called them twice and asked them to release the COE on an urgent basis. I don't understand why this is important to them but maybe they want to know if it is something serious. I guess it's common to get this request from the immigration.

Applied APRIL 26 for dependent .STILL WAITING NO ADDITIONAL PAPER . NAGOYA IMMIGRATION. Nepal

Applied for dependent visa (wife & baby) for two person on June 4th 2024 at Nagoya Immigration. Sept 7th asked for additional document for baby birth certificate in Japanese translated version.

Perhaps you could consider visiting/calling Nagoya IB for an update? Did you apply personally? I applied May 23rd and got approved on the 26th of September so there could be a possibility that they missed your application or whatnot.

Just got an update from the lawyer my company hired that he got the COE acceptance notice and it should be ready in a couple days.

I was very anxious because my company deadline was October 25th.

Applied: July 19th 2024

Acceptance notice: October 9th 2024
