Marioka to Miyako

I am reaching Marioka station around 8.30 pm. The initial plan was to take a rental car from the station to Miyako and stay near the Jodogohama beach. But on researching I notice that all the car rental companies close before 8 pm, hence looking at other options to travel to Miyako (near Jodogohama beach). Any suggestions on this can be very helpful to plan our travel which is towards October end. We are a family of four travelling.

It is called Morioka. I recommend to stay overnight in Morioka and travel the next morning. But if you really want to make it to Miyako within the day, you could get off the train before 8pm somwehere before Morioka and rent a car from there (assuming you approach Morioka by shinkansen). But you would likely arrive around 11pm or later. Not recommended. It is also a slightly scary road in the dark, prone to wildlife jumping out of the forest.
