Duration from Ogizawa to Toyama

I have purchased Ogizawa-Dentetsu Toyama One way departing at 10am. My plan is to complete the one way route and thereafter head to Takayama where I have booked my accommodation. Based on the train schedule the last train from Toyama to Takayama is at 5.14pm. My question is will I be able to make it to arrive at Toyama in time to take this train? What is the most likely time I will reach Toyama?

If you were to travel through the route without major stop, you could arrive in Toyama at 15:16.

On busy days, it may not be possible to always ride the first departure.

It sounds not very good to rush through the route just in order to make it to your hotel in Takayama in time. You are making all that trip through the Alps to enjoy the landscape. I would change the hotel to Toyama and take a train the next morning to Takayama.

However per google maps the last train from Toyama to Takayama is at 19:50 with a change at Inotani.

I would however still sleep in Toyama to avoid stress on n the route.
