Takeda Castle in Late December

I am thinking of visiting Takeda Castle in late December, a week or so before the official closing date of January 4. I would like to hike up to the castle, what sort of conditions should I expect? I did read a translated review which suggested the trails might already be closed by then, is that correct?
Are the trails open 24/7? So for example, if the castle opens at 10, can I start climbing at 9 since it takes about an hour to get up to the top?
I know it is only open for 4 hours during the day at that time. Thanks.
