Hi all, i will be travelling to Hokkaido in June next year. I have a group of 6 and we are not driving.
I plan to stay in Utoro and book a tour with the tour bus to visit shiretoko national park. is there a website i can use find a tour?
Secondly, I also have a option to take a cruise? Seems like there are 3+hrs and 2 hrs cruise to choose from, are there any one who has taken a cruise and how was it?
I also gather from the website that we need a guide to walk the 5 lakes. Where can i find a guide?
I will arrive Utoro at 12:20pm on day 1, with our luggage. Is it possible to leave our luggage with the cruise company and go for the cruise? i remember seeing a cruise leaving at 230pm.
thank you for reading, Lois

Hi, Jo and haro1210, may I ask if the website haro1210 listed, is what Jo is referring too? Cause the 3 course A, B and C are much more than 1,400 yen. I remember seeing that course B is 3,000yen.
Thank you.. Lois

Now I get it, they are 2 different buses.
So seem like the the sightseeing bus is a good choice as we can get to the different attractions without worrying about bus timing.
So, if I want to combine B and C, I need to pay 3,300+1,900yen. Am I right?

Thank you, everyone. Is there anybody who can advice on the cruise, whether it's worth it, even if I don't see bears. Is the scenery worth the 6,000yen for 2hr cruise? I know it's quite subjective but would like to know... thanks.

Is the scenery worth the 6,000yen for 2hr cruise? Here is my two cents opinion, no. I joined a cruise a few years ago. I saw no bears; if there was one, I would probably see a size of a " Teddy bear", because the ship was a distance away from the shore. If you really want to see bears up close, visit the Bear mountain: https://bear-mt.jp/access?lang=en

I don't know if it's worth it, but I remember it, so I'm glad I rode it. I was a college student at the time and didn't have much money, so I didn't take the tour. (Because it was over 30 years ago, there may not have been regular tours.) As a result, sightseeing spots from Utoro were limited to the Shiretoko Five Lakes and cruises. If I had a car, I might have been able to go to Kamuiwakka. I spent one night in Utoro. There was a Godzilla-shaped rock near the cruise ship boarding point, and it also remained in my memory. Also, I was impressed by the beauty of the sunset I saw in Utoro.
