I want to study in Japan for the whole school yr in my last yr of high school. Is it possible to be a student there without any relatives in Japan nor without getting into an exchange program? Im planning on looking for a host family. Is it possible to be a student there just by a student visa and good Japanese?

As mentioned, this topic has been asked many, many times. In short, it's not going to happen. Just graduate first and then apply for language school or college in Japan.

Stip, you just have me PTSD seeing one of those threads. I'll let you guess which one :-)

@mfedley Perhaps a Canadian girl's one? By distorting her own background during the discussion, she made multiple threads to get the ideal answer which does not really exists, and received many "no"s instead from other users. It's been about a year since then, and I'm a little curious about what she and her family are doing now.

Spot on stip.
From memory, she had at least 3 threads with similar stories and slightly different names. It felt like going in circles. I've basically given up on these types of threads now unless it's a quippy comment such as my first one.
