Hokkaido in August: Asahidake or Kurodake

Hi there. Will be visiting Hokkaido in earlyAugust. Partner is not really a fan of hiking so intend to just do either Asahidake or Kurodake. Any suggestion?
And also from prelim research seems like August is a good time to raft in Japan. Any recommendation for nice places to do it at? Kayak as well, saw an article saying lake shikaribetsu would be good. Appreciate any other potential places as well.
Thank you

Asahidake has a ropeway and you can go for a walk up there too, not a hike. So maybe better if your partner doesnt like hiking.
Ive gone canyoneering with gcanyonsh in August in Gunma. I think they do rafting as well. Easy to get there from Tokyo and can recommend!
