Store bags for an overnight to Koyasan?

It looks like an amazing overnight trip from Kyoto, but also one where you wouldn't want to have your main bag with you – and instead just taking an overnight bag.

Would a hotel be okay with you stashing a bag with them? Or anyone have any insights on how they've done this?

Manny hotels would be okay with that. But ask your hotel. Alternatively you could loom into a locker or f you are returning to Kyoto. If after Koyasan you go somewhere else you could also send your luggage from Kyoto to that new place by TaQBin.
