Mt Fuji during Fujisan Marathon

Hi, planned to visit the Fuji Five Lakes from 21 to 22 November but just found out that Fujisan Marathon 2024 will take place on 24 Nov with welcome ceremony on 23 Nov. Should I still go ahead? I do not want to visit during 1 of its busiest and most crowded times. I will already miss the Fujikawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival as its last day is 20 Nov. I am also concerned that Lake Kawaguchiko will look trampied if I reschedule to visit immediately after the marathon. I am also trying to catch the peak autumn foliage here.

I will be driving here from Nagoya. After Fuji Five Lakes, I plan to go to Hakone, Fujinomiya and Izu before I drive back to Nagoya for shikazakura viewing, return the car and then proceed to the Kansai region by rail - Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe and Hiroshima - till 9 December.

If I skip the Mt Fuji region this time, where else can I go from Nagoya for some really beautiful autumn foliage at that time?

any advice and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
