Being a Foreigner and Getting Pregnant

Hi,
I have had this concern and I would like to know suggestions please.
I recently got married to a citizen of my country.
I am Nigerian by the way.
I work in Japan currently and I have less than a year left on my contract.
It is renewable if I'd like to continue working with the company.
However, my husband would join me in Japan very soon on a dependent visa and we would really like to have our first child immediately he comes.
I have heard many stories about how inconvenient it is for foreigners and how I might loose my job and visa status when pregnant.
If I loose the job and visa status, my husband would also loose his; being a dependent here.
Is there something I could do to hold my visa status or it's advisable to just move to another country?

I might loose my job and visa status when pregnant.
Assuming your current contract is renewed, your employer cannot legally fire you just because you are pregnant. But there are scenarios where they could end your contract (eg: if they close your office, and also lay off everyone there, not just you).
However, when you come back from maternity leave, they could decide not to renew your contract, in which case you would need to find a new job to keep your resident status.
it's advisable to just move to another country?
Why would it be easier in another country? At least in Japan, you have a job and health insurance (that you are paying taxes for).

the situation may be largely different, depending on your social insurances.
