Hakone: Kamiyama & Komagatake trail open?

Hey fellow Japan enthusiasts and/or locals,

I found some sparse information on a trail that leads from Owakudani Station over Mt Kamiyama to Mt Komagatake. Hiking through the volcanic landscape and escaping a bit from the typical tourist routes sounds very appealing to me. However, I could not find any info whether this trail is actually open or closed at the moment. It would be a great help if someone knows more about the trail and its current status.

The trails on the northern side of the Komagatake peak have been closed for years, and I have no hopes that they will be reopened anytime soon.
