Tateyama alpine route or Shinhotaka ropeway

We are travelling with our 2 teenage daughters in June and I have booked 2 days in Takayama and then we have another 2 days free which is not yet finalised.

I was planning to do the Tateyama alpine route over 2 days but am now thinking that perhaps it would be better to spend a day visting Kamikochi national park and a day doing Shinhotaka ropeway maybe better, we could stay near either location.

Is the alpine route worth taking the extra time to go there, is it more spectacular than the view at Shinhotaka?
