Dependant visa to permanent resident

Hi everyone! I am currently on a dependant visa and I’ve read's that after a year living in Japan you are eligible to apply for permanent resident.
I really want to do this but my situation is a little weird and I’m wondering if anyone can relate.
I arrived in Japan and I gave birth shortly after arriving so I’ve not worked whilst here, my husband works and covers costs for both of us.

I am wondering because I’ve not worked if that would rule of the permanent residency for me at this time?

Does your spouse have permanent resident status already?

Yes my husband is a special permanent resident (特別永住者)
