Naturalization in 2022

Bonjour,

The call was to confirm my address did not change to receive the renunciation documentation. They asked me to return them for naturalization to be effective.
This procedure shall not apply to a french citizen….

It's took me 3 months to get this certificate from Pakistan. R you from india?is your Naturalization app is in process? good luck for all.

thank you very much, yes I am from India. I will apply this month. But one of my Pakistani friend applied last year and now he is waiting for that certificate from embassy and he said that he already applied for that certificate half year ago but still didn't get the response from his embassy.
you are lucky that you got it in 3 months.

For France it is different, they do not issue any certificate unless you already have a nationality.
And Japan needs a certificate to naturalize you...
This is the dilemna I have and need to clarify. Waiting for the official mailed request.

Legal afair will give you assurance letter to assure you, if you will renounce your current nationality, then you will be nauturalized citizen of japan, Good luck.

It does not work like this for France….

It seems for France, it became the same than for other countries. Homukyoku request a receipt that the loss of nationality application has been made(recipisse) and certificate that nationality has been lost for french authority (certificate).
Hoping french embassy knows about it….
This is a change from previous procedure.

I have submitted my renunciation certificate to homequok on 8/3 , as homequok told me to do so naturalization can finalize, How long i still need to wait? have anyone have experienced this? I am in naturalization process since 2020 july, tired of waiting now. want to get out of it.

you will get the final result within a few days and please check the kanpo daily then you will find your name there.

Do you mean that now french need to renounce the nationality first before getting naturalized in Japan?
I already inquired about this at the ambassy and they told me that the Japanese nationality should be received first in order to officially renounce, but you can apply the renonciation first.

Before I heard a lot of people that you get first naturalized to then renounce and you have up to two years…is that not effective anymore?

Also did you made the renunciation first and then after you receive the Japanese passport need to officialize the loss of passport or you are already now without any nationality?

I have two questions regarding the submission of naturalization documents:
1. when they will take the Japanese language ability written test? (on the same day of the application or after application)
2. what kind of interview they will take from me and from my wife?

Homequok have different rules regarding your Nationality, In my case As Pakistan citizens have to renounce before naturalization result, after home homequok issued me assurance letter. I am stateless as per now until i gets final result and gets Japanese koseki Tohan(Passport).

In my case,

I submitted all the documents last January 2022. 

I was instructed to wait three to four months before receiving a call for an interview by the person in charge. But despite waiting over 7 months, no one has called me.

It’s seems like Homekyoku is busier than usual so it may take some time. Let’s hope for best. And they do confirm few thing from your country. Depending on your country it change.

Hi everyone, i applied to naturalization in April and now waiting for the call for the interview.i am now getting stressed about my work and i really want to change my job. But i heard that once u applied, u shouldnt change your job. Does anyone know about this problem. Please help me.

There is no problem changing your job. You just need to notify them you changed the job what share the details of the job. They may ask why you changed you can tell them some good point.
