Getting from Nikko to Manza Onsen?

Hi

On 06/02/19 i will need to go from Nikko Tokanso hotel, in Nikko to Manza Princehotel in Manza Onsen village.

However i am struggling on how to get there; there is an option to go from Nikko back to tokyo station and get the free bus arranged by the hotel to the village but unsure if this is the most efficient. As it will waste time.

Perhaps go from nikko to tokyo stay the night in tokyo then day after go to Manza Hotel.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ?!

You can take trains to Karuizawa, and bus to Manza onsen.

What are the trains available from Nikko to Karuizawa cant find anything on the forum?

all route planners only advised to go into tokyo and then to Karuizawa. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

thats great thankyou, but this would mean we would get to Manza midday, i am thinking of

day 1 go to Nikko purchase the Nikko all area pass, spend the night.
day 2 Leave nikko activate JR 3 day tokyo wide pass and spend remainder of night in tokyo.
day 3 get to Karuizawa station for 0900 get free hotel bus spend night there.
day 4 leave Manza Onsen back to tokyo using JR tokyo wide pass for the journey.
