Odakyu and Enoshima Line run by Odakyu 2024/8/5 18:54
So I am planning to take a day trip to Enoshima Island from Shinjuku station. On the way back from the island, Google Maps states that I should take the Enoshima Line from Katase-Enoshima station to Fujisawa Station then make a transfer to the Odawara Line from Fujisawa Station to Shinjuku station, so 2 lines with one transfer.

My question is can I simply use my Suica card on both station gates when I am at Katase-Enoshima station and when I am at Fujisawa Station? I was reading the Odakyu website and it is giving me the impression that I have to get a physical ticket at the vending machine first and the gates do not accept IC cards.

If I do have to get a physical ticket, will the vending machine thus issue me two tickets each for a seprate line, or just one ticket for the entire trip?

Yes, you can use Suica. You tap in at Katase-Enoshima and you tap out at Shinjuku. No additional tapping required because it is all with the same company, Odakyu.

Absolutely no problem. You just use your Suica.

Yes, you can use your Suica card for both stations. Just tap it at Katase-Enoshima Station and then at Fujisawa Station to switch to the Odakyu Line. No need for a physical ticket. Make sure your Suica has enough balance for the trip.

At Fujisawa Station, you don't have to get through any gate.
The concourse connects the two platforms,
and they are on the same level.

- Map of Fujisawa Station (Odakyu)
https://www.odakyu.jp/station/data/o5oaa10000000mbz-img/fujisawa_all.j...

Trains starting from Katase-Enoshima Station (OE16)
are mostly Local trains which run for the short section
between Katase-Enoshima (OE16) and Fujisawa (OE13).

These Local trains basically use Track 4 of Fujisawa Station.
Express and Rapid Express trains bound for Shinjuku (OH01)
depart at Track 1 or 2.

Google Maps states that I should take the Enoshima Line from Katase-Enoshima station to Fujisawa Station then make a transfer to the Odawara Line from Fujisawa Station to Shinjuku station, so 2 lines with one transfer.

The boundary station is not Fujisawa (OE13) but Sagami-Ono (OH28).
Odakyu Fujisawa Station (OE13) is not at the end of the line,
but most trains terminate there.

----

At Shinjuku, make sure not to confuse
the Odakyu exit gate and the Odakyu-JR transfer gate.

It's better to know in advance
which gate or exit is convenient (for your destination)
and how to get there from the platform.
Shinjuku Station complex can be a labyrinth for first timers.

Isn't Shonan-shinjuku line from Shinjuku to Ofuna and then using Ofuna monorail much faster compared to the Odakyu trains?

Hi @Lauriandres,

I am going to Ensohima Island via the Shonan monorail but on the way back in the evening, Google Maps is suggesting me to take the Odakyu company trains for a faster route.
