I will be travelling from Sapporo to Marukoma Onsen early January. I am having trouble locating the bus timetable. Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers

There are no direct buses. You should first take a train from Sapporo to Chitose and then transfer to a bus for Shikotsuko. From the final bus stop it is still a considerable distance to the ryokan. You can call a pick-up service (0123-25-2341). Here is the bus timetable: https://www.chuo-bus.co.jp/city_route/course/common/images/pdf/chitose...It is the two last boxes on the first page with the airplane symbol. 千歳駅前 refers to Chitose Station 支笏湖 refers to Shikotsuko where you should get off. Buses with a filled out red star operate only on weekends and holidays. As you can see, there are only 4-6 buses per day.
