I'm looking for a luxury, modern hotel near Sapporo. I like the Ritz-Carlton in Niseko, but it's too far from Sapporo. Is there a similar hotel in or near Sapporo? Ideally, it should be within an hour's distance. Thank you in advance for your help.

Forgive me if you've been to Japan many times before and know exactly what you want, but if it's your first time I'd suggest that if you're only thinking of booking a luxury western chain because you fear that the alternatives might not be clean, safe or comfortable (which I totally understand especially in some parts of the world), then you need not worry.
I have had particularly good experiences with Daiwa Roynet and Mitsui Garden hotels, and while the rooms are not exactly massive, otherwise they have been excellent. Decent English spoken at the front desk too. These sort of hotels often have reasonable laundry facilities as well, instead of charging you $5 per sock to have someone else launder them.
I'd also recommend thinking about location. If you suddenly decide to do a long day trip by train then no matter how nice the hotel is, you might still be cursing it for a 50 minute transfer vs a 5 minute walk to the main station.
Again, apologies if none of this applies to you, but I wanted to point out that of all the countries in the world, you really have to try to choose a bad hotel in Japan.

Personally, the last thing I want in Japan is a Western chain. Japanese hospitality in nice hotels is incredible and to experience that, is that not why we travel?

Hello, this is the writer. Thank you for your kind response.
However, this time, there is a specific reason I am looking for a Western-style hotel. I actually live in a nearby country and have visited Japan several times. Normally, I prefer staying in ryokans, but since I am preparing a special event for my fiancée, a traditional hotel doesn't quite fit the style I'm aiming for. We're planning to stay just for one night during the trip. Do you have any recommendations for a suitable hotel?

In https://www.japan-guide.com/forum/quereadisplay.html?0+182236, Ritz Carlton Niseko was exactly what I want. However, Niseko is quite far from other tourist destinations like Sapporo, and it's inconvenient to access via public transport. I'll visit there during the off-season, and it seems that buses from the airport may not be operating. As a result, I am now considering places that are closer to Sapporo.

Sapporo Park Hotel or Sapporo Grand Hotel could be options for you-both are very upscale- better location is Grand Hotel but Park Hotel has the park right there and one of my favorite lunch spots just across the street
