Transportation to Bitchu-Matsuyama Castle

We would like to visit the castle as a stop on the way to Matsue from Okayama by train. I have been researching transportation to the castle from the train station with multiple suggestions but none recent. We will be travelling late October of 2023. Does anyone have current info on shuttle bus or taxi availability?

Bitchu-Takahashi is another town where public transportation has suffered terribly under corona. There is nothing practical left to be used by tourists besides taxis. The "shared taxi" to the castle operates four times per day and needs to be reserved at least one day in advance by phone (0866-22-8666):
