Hi,
Heading to Abashiri from Sapporo by Ltd Express Okhotsk. The journey is more than 5 hours. Does the train make any rest stops or so along the way or serve any food or drinks along the way?

The train stops for 3-4 minutes at Engaru Station when it changes direction. I am not sure whether this is enough time to do anything. There are toilets on board, but unfortunately JR Hokkaido has stopped selling food and drinks on the train.
The concept of "rest stops" in case of trains is generally not common in Japan. Many people consider the train ride itself a form of rest.
