Where is a close place to ski in Morioka?

My family is coming in from the coast to Morioka on a Sunday, and would like to ski in the afternoon before catching a train to Tokyo in the morning. What's the best place to do that skiing and still catch the early morning Shinkansen? Appi or Shizukuishi? Thank you very much in advance.
