Should I take the inland or coastal train route from Lake Toya to Sapporo, travelling February. Which is more scenic / interesting in winter?

You can check by yourself by googling gFrom toyako onsen to sapporoh. Basically there seems to be two routes: Direct bus (inland) and combination of bus to JR Toya station and limited express train (coastal) to Sapporo.
Direct bus: less frequent, takes more time, uncomfortable (you canft leave your seats for about 3 hours) but inexpensive.
Bus/train: frequent, fast, comfortable but expensive.
As for scenery, the weather will be snowy, so there will not be much difference.
