I'm planning on going to Iga-Ueno and was wondering how long is long enough to see Ueno castle? I'm hoping to get there a bit before noon and be out and going to the ninja museum by 2:30ish... is that reasonable?

The typical tourist spends between 10 and 25 minutes inside the castle tower. Walking around the grounds takes another 5-15 minutes. If you want to see the tall castle walls from below, the walk there will add another 20 minutes.

2.5 hours is more than enough time for Iga Ueno Castle. The castle doesn't really have anything to look at inside, so it doesn't take long to go up, see the view from the castle, and go back down. As always, it depends on your pace but I think most people can easily go inside and around the castle in less than 1 hour.
