Hi everyone! My family and I are planning to go to Fukushima and climb Mt. Azuma Kofuji. We all have little to no experience with hiking, so I have a couple of questions:
1. Are there slippery or dangerously steep parts around the rim of the crater?
2. Is the pathway wide enough that we wonft have to worry about falling down in either side of the volcano (given that we donft go too close to the edges, of course)?
3. Should we go clockwise or counterclockwise?
Thank you very much!

There is lots of loose rocks and small stones and relatively steep sections. In that respect it can be a slippery. But I would not call it dangerous. You better do it with proper shoes, though.
2. Is the pathway wide enough that we wonft have to worry about falling down in either side of the volcano (given that we donft go too close to the edges, of course)?
Yes, it is always comfortably wide.
3. Should we go clockwise or counterclockwise?
I don't see any reason why one direction would be better than the other.
