Visiting asahikawa zoo

Hi
We are visiting Hokkaido in this early December, wondering if it still worths a visit to asahikawa zoo without a penguin parade to see.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It is the most interesting zoo in Japan in my opinion. If you like zoos and are in the area, it is definitely worth a visit.
