Okuhida Onsen stay recommendation

We are wanting to visit this area in October 2024, we want to take the bus from Takayama and stay one night and use the hot baths, we want something not too far from the bus stop, please can you recommend somewhere to stay which will provide us with breakfast, lunch and dinner please. Deborah

I did like Hirayu no Mori that’s very close to the bus station. The main attraction for me were the huge outdoor baths. Dinner was also great. But it’s not the most romantic /traditional ryokan.

Very good public baths, and also a system of (?I think?) 3 lovely private baths that were on a first-come-first-served basis.

Food was great, and I remember that we had dinner sitting around the hearth with fish and other goodies on skewers, as well as Hida beef, etc.

Room was also lovely. We splurged a little on a room with a sunken hearth and had a very pleasant evening sitting around it, talking and trying the local sake.

Bus dropped us off very nearby.
