What to do in Okinawa in Dec?

Hi, I'll be in Fukuoka for 2 weeks and we are thinking of flying down to okinawa for about 5 days, are there any must go places? Suggestions for places to stay would be good too as we would be self-driving. Thank you!!

What things do you like to do and how much are you willing to travel?

Are you only staying on the main island or visiting other islands as well?

I like Sesoko Island. It’s a bit of a drive from Naha, but still less than an hour. The beaches are beautiful, and there is a new Hilton hotel nearby. It’s not far from Churaumi Aquarium, nor is it far from grocery stores and shopping.

The more northern part of Okinawa is less crowded, has lots of natural scenery, and you can find little hidden spots which are almost magical. Sea Glass Beach is also a nice and more secluded place.

we just booked our accoms in the Onna area, we are quite chill, prefer eating and sightseeing with some shopping! Tbh we wouldnt mind snorkelling as well.

We are also having some trouble trying to book a rental car as it seems like alot of the sites are either in Japanese or full

Since I went there via Ishigaki Island, I also went to Kabira Bay.

Both islands are difficult to get to by car (car ferry, etc.) from the main island of Okinawa, so you will need to rent one locally.
Also, you need to fly from Okinawa to Ishigakijima Airport or from Fukuoka to Ishigakijima Airport.
On the main island of Okinawa, Yanbaru in the northern part may have a similar atmosphere to the jungle of Iriomote Island (although I have never been there).
