Query on Kyushu Odan and Kamenoi bus

We will be taking the Kyushu Odan/Kamenoi buses to explore Kumamoto, Aso, Kurokawa Onsen, Yufuin and Beppu end of this month (25 Oct-31 Oct). Is it necessary to book tickets online and make reservations in advance or can I just buy them when we're there?
Also, we'll be taking the shinkansen from Hiroshima to Fukuyama (19 Nov) and from Fukuyama to Kyoto (21 Nov). We were planning to buy the tickets on the spot. Are the tickets likely to be sold out?
