Rikugien Autumn Light-Up

Hi guys!

I’ll be in Tokyo 1-7 Dec. Need info regarding Rikugien Light-up. I want to do both daytime and light-up event. Do I need to exit when the garden’s normal hour ends (at 5pm) then re-enter for the Light-up? I have been scouring the internet and I read people recommending going there just before dusk to enjoy both (which is my intention). It sounds like you just stay put in the garden… 🤷🏻‍♀️.
I also read there is a reservation system for the light-up so this contrasts with above…
I’m hoping the dates will be announced soon.
Another thing, I know Someimon Gate only opens for short periods in spring and autumn. However, when it is opened we can still use the Main Gate, right?
Finally, are there still lockers at the Main Gate?

Yes, the garden closed once between 5pm and 6pm.

There will be a reservation system for the night illuminations, but the details and link have not been published yet.

The dates were announced already: November 22 until December 4.

Yes. The opening dates for the Someimon Gate have not been announced yet, I believe.
